2Succeed assists and provides employment opportunities and builds job-ready skills for MHCD clients. Our program is individualized to member’s needs. 2Succeed provides the following services to our clientele:
Vocational Assessment:
In-depth interviewing, aptitude and on-line interest testing (CHOICES) are used to assist in selecting a job goal. The assessment identifies member’s strengths, interests, and values in the workplace.
Job Exploration & Job Readiness:
Individualized training is provided to 2Succeed members including; Microsoft Office, Word, Outlook and Excel. Keyboarding skill building and training on internet and customer service skills are also available. Job exploration encompasses: completing job applications, resume writing, mock interviewing, appropriate dress, time management, and professionalism on the job.
Job Coaching:
A job coach can be available for an indefinite period of time to act as a liaison between employer and employee in order to ensure success on the job. A job coach can assist individuals to overcome fears and develop coping skills on the job to help them succeed. Counselors begin supporting the individuals by recognizing their skills and interests. Job coaching includes, but is not limited to; job skills training, job site orientation and monitoring the individual at the job site to assess employment stability and continual success on the job.
Job Carving or Job Creation:
Job carving is the act of analyzing work duties performed in a given job and identifying specific tasks that might be assigned to an employee with a disability. Job carving is a unique tool that Employment Specialist can use to approach employers and offer solutions to productivity challenges. To ensure a good job match, the process must include job site research based upon member desire and the employer’s need.
Job Shadowing:
Job shadowing places individuals in "real life" learning situations. It offers the employer and the individual the opportunity to learn from others on the job and gain first-hand information about job skills and careers.
Work Support Group:
A peer support group designed as an outlet for MHCD members to meet and discuss employment issues, goals, strategies, and solutions. The Work Support Group at 2Succeed meets weekly.
Employment Specialists:
An Employment Specialist will support both the employer’s and employee’s needs for success on the job. We explore and evaluate an individual’s education, training, work history, interests, skills, and personality traits. We also work with individuals to develop their job-search skills and assist members in locating and applying for jobs. As Employment specialists, we work closely with the individual in selecting a vocational goal and producing a plan that interests the individual and meets their needs. Employment Specialists work to strengthen employer relationships to work towards successful employment outcomes.
Department of Vocational Rehabilitation:
The State Department of Vocational Rehabilitation provides the following services to any business, without obligation to ultimately hire a person with a disability.

Accessibility Assessments - consults with businesses to help them improve access for people with disabilities.

Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA) Consultations - provides technical assistance, information and clarification to employers about the ADA and how it relates to their businesses.

Disability Awareness Training - educates managers, supervisors, and other employees about the potential impact of stereotypical attitudes towards people with disabilities on business operations.

Job Accommodation/Modification - consultation designed to improve a job function, such as redesigning the work environment, changing the sequencing of tasks, or providing assistive devices/equipment.

Support Services - Individually designed support services that will assist the VR client achieve maximum job performance may include the following: job coaching, supported employment, on-the-job training, and work adjustment training.
